Adventures in Password Land (and Other Unexpected Victories)

Today I discovered something important about myself: I am basically a part‑time IT technician now. Honestly, I should start charging myself an hourly rate.

It all began this morning when I needed to get into my website. Simple, right? No. No it was not.

First, I had to break into my own email like some kind of digital cat burglar. Then I found myself staring at phpMyAdmin — which, if you’ve never seen it, looks like the cockpit of a plane designed by someone who hates humans. But there I was, clicking around like I knew what I was doing.

And guess what? I actually fixed it. I changed the WordPress admin password inside the database and it worked. I felt like a hacker in a movie, except instead of wearing sunglasses and typing dramatically, I was in residential housing, probably making the same face a confused possum makes when it sees a flashlight.

After all that excitement, I decided to talk to AI again — because honestly, if I can have a conversation with something that doesn’t judge me for forgetting my own passwords, that’s a win. It even helped me sort out a shopping list. I’m not saying AI is my new best friend, but it definitely knows how to keep me fed and my website running, which is more than I can say for some humans.

So here I am, writing another blog post, feeling strangely proud of myself. Recovery is full of ups and downs, but today I’m counting this as a solid “up.”

If I can survive a trip through the email inbox, cPanel, and a MySQL database before lunch, then honestly, I can survive anything.
